Poems in the drawer

V5.5

Poems in the drawer by Shikanu' Copyright2026 No one observes the verse in silent cell, Wrapped in the dust and shadows of the past, And yet a breeze begins to stir and swell Within the shrine where all my thoughts are cast. In those dark rhymes my spirit fades away, Inside the chest of ancient juniper, While ink begins to bleach and turn to gray, The sense of every word a ghost-like stir. But in the hush, the heartbeat starts to beat, Like a persistent voice that will not die; The weary soul finds rest in its retreat, Ready to wake and soar into the sky. But if a hand should shake the locked-up door, The sound awakes in vibrant, sudden flight, My every line feels fear and dread no more Of staying lonely in the desert night. The inner hoard begins to shine so bold, Freed from the bonds of waiting, dull and long, The chanting turns itself to purest gold Within the memory, now bright and strong. I open wide the drawer in golden night, Where I once kept a promise in the shade; The final treasure gleams with hidden light, A deep emotion that will never fade. I open wide the drawer in golden night, Where I once kept a promise in the shade; The final treasure gleams in sun so bright, A poem for the world, no more afraid.
