Southern Cross (Dark Is The Night)

For the first time He was alone there All alone In this deep darkness But when he looked up Oh to the night sky The Milky Way Oh it was glowing Oh what a sight So many stars there Right there just floating Right above the horizon And then he could see The Southern Cross Oh so much clearer Than ever before One night there in darkness One night there in awe This beauty and greatness This vastness that he saw Clear clear sky, dark dark night Oh Southern Cross (Oh Southern Cross) Dark dark dark is the night Oh Southern Cross (oh Southern Cross) Dark is the night Oh Oh in this desert The red sand on the ground All is dark Under this faint New Moon And for the last time He looked up to the sky And the night sky Looked right back at him Just once in a lifetime Or maybe he’ll return Just a little peace of mind For those of us who yearn (For a little peace of mind) Clear clear sky, dark dark night Oh Southern Cross (oh Southern Cross) Dark dark dark is the night Oh Southern Cross (oh Southern Cross) Dark is the night Just pause for a moment And then look up high Oh let me see my Southern Cross My Southern Cross One more time One more time Here in the Outback Under the Southern hemisphere The dingoes and the cockatoos The wallabies and kangaroos Here in the desert Above us the Southern hemisphere With millennia passing by The Southern Cross illuminates our sky Oh Southern Cross Clear clear sky, dark dark night Oh Southern Cross (oh Southern Cross) Oh Southern cross It shines so bright Goodbye oh bye sleep tight Oh Southern Cross (Oh Southern Cross) Oh Southern Cross Dark dark is the night Oh see the light Oh of the Southern Cross In the dark of night Oh southern Cross Oh southern Cross Oh southern Cross Oh southern Cross Just stay for a moment And look up high oh high Oh let me see my Southern Cross One more time One more time One more time
