It’s just that… sometimes the “me” from back then feels almost too bright. But the worlds I kept writing into being— they don’t betray me. That’s all I need to believe as I keep moving forward. ★Lyric [Intro] The melodies I send into the future flow back to me, just as they always have. [Verse 1] Brushing the dust away, I read my past again. “Wow… I actually wrote this,” I catch myself admiring it like it belonged to someone else. My fingertips gently trace the state of mind I had back then. It’s not that I want to deny who I am now. [Pre-Chorus] Words that linger softly in my ears, melodies that seep into my heart. [Chorus 1] What I want to write and the direction I’m able to draw right now— they never seem to overlap. With no beginning, middle, or end to control it, a narrative world just rises on its own. I guess I have no choice but to live alongside it. I know. Yeah… I know. [Verse 2] Just a flicker of irritation, a sigh that slips out unnoticed. Even moods like that— levels that barely matter— still end up steering my words, reshaping them as they go. I’m nowhere near “mature.” It’s almost funny, honestly. All I can do is accept who I am right now. [Pre-Chorus] Words that linger softly in my ears, melodies that seep into my heart. [Chorus 2] What I want to draw and the words I manage to spill out— they still refuse to align. With no rhythm or pacing to control it, a world of thought drifts into view. I guess I have no choice but to live alongside it. I know. Yeah… I know. [Bridge] “I understand it.” But— “I don’t want to accept it.” That kind of selfishness, for now, I want to hold it close. This creature called “me,” something I can’t fully control. Holding the me that trembles within these arms, I still can’t quite say “I love you.” [Final Chorus] To my self, just a little further in the future— please, read me properly when you look back. Because of these swings, these margins, I can create a world that is truly mine. It’s fine to stay unfinished. Don’t stop the pen. I hope you’re smiling. I really hope you are. [Outro] Somewhere between understanding and rejection, today again, I draw the me I can’t fully control. …Yeah. I’ll keep writing. Properly. One word at a time.
