VALDGAR , FROSTMANTLE’S LAST SHOUT
[Intro] Snow on the banners, ash on the shore, Vominheim trembled like never before. One prince stood where the frightened would kneel, with winter in his blood and iron in his will. [Verse 1] Valdgar Frostmantle walked through the storm, young was his face, but his heart was old. He heard the cries from the halls of the broken, he saw the dead in the tyrant’s hold. No crown was heavy enough to blind him, no throne was worth a people chained. He gathered the brave by fire and silence, and swore no child would fear that name. [Pre-Chorus] The sea-wind carried his oath through the night, the mountains answered in thunder and flame. When darkness rose with Vuldur behind it, Valdgar called it by name. [Chorus] Raise your voice, Valdgar, shake the blackened stone. Let the cold sky hear you, you do not stand alone. For every grave that cries beneath us, for every soul they tried to bind, Frostmantle rides into the darkness with Vominheim behind. [Verse 2] They marched where even wolves kept distance, past ruined towers and frozen graves. The Disciples watched from shattered windows, their whispers crawling through the caves. At Vuldur’s temple the torches faltered, steel grew pale in the breathless air. But Valdgar lifted his eyes to the heavens, and gave his fear to prayer. [Pre-Chorus] Then came the shout from the son of winter, stone split open, chains were torn. Even the dead remembered silence when Valdgar’s Voice was born. [Chorus] Raise your voice, Valdgar, shake the blackened stone. Let the cold sky hear you, you do not stand alone. For every grave that cries beneath us, for every soul they tried to bind, Frostmantle rides into the darkness with Vominheim behind. [Verse 3] He struck the lord of bone and shadow, he wounded pride that would not kneel. Vuldur bled into the thunder, and fled beyond the Desolate Veil. But victory came with bitter mercy, the snow drank deep where heroes fell. No feast could warm the empty benches, no song could name them well. [Bridge] O Valdgar, prince of frozen sorrow, you won the dawn, but lost the day. Your brothers sleep in Silent Vale now, where cold winds guard the way. [Bridge Repeat] O Valdgar, son of oath and iron, your last shout still breaks the night. When dead kings rise from ancient darkness, your memory carries light. [Final Chorus] Raise your voice, Valdgar, shake the blackened stone. Let the cold sky hear you, you do not stand alone. For every grave that cries beneath us, for every soul they tried to bind, Frostmantle rides into the darkness with Vominheim behind. [Final Chorus Repeat] Raise your voice, Valdgar, not for glory, not for throne. For the lost who march beside you, for the land that was your own. Though the veil may breathe behind us, though old evil wakes again, Valdgar’s shout still lives in winter, in the hearts of living men. [Outro] Snow on the banners, ash on the shore, Vominheim remembers what one prince bore. If darkness returns and the dead cry out, the north still answers Frostmantle’s last shout.
