[Intro soft piano and strings] [Verse 1] God is our refuge and strength An ever-present help in trouble We will not fear, though the earth gives way And mountains fall into the sea Though waters roar and foam And the mountains quake with surging. [Chorus] You are my fortress, my shield You are my refuge, and strength My ever-present help. In times of trouble, You're near Through every trial, You're here Be still, and know that He is God. [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse 2] There is a river that makes glad The city of God, where He dwells God is within her, she will not fall He helps her at break of day Nations roar, kingdoms fall He lifts His voice, the earth melts. [Chorus] You are my fortress, my shield You are my refuge, and strength My ever-present help. In times of trouble, You're near Through every trial, You're here Be still, and know that He is God. [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse 3] Come and see what the Lord has done The desolations on the earth He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth He breaks the bow and shatters the spear He burns the shields with fire He says: "Be still, and know that I am God" [Instrumental Interlude] [Bridge] The Lord Almighty is with us The God of Jacob is our fortress He will be exalted in the earth Be still, and know that He is God [Reflective Instrumental Solo] [Chorus] You are my fortress, my shield You are my refuge, and strength My ever-present help.
