[Intro] [Verse 1] Woke up sick with a throat like sand Got a honey jar in my shaking hand Mint tea, wet mask, lemon drop Tell my stupid cough to stop-stop-stop Dr. Sinus in the back room scheming Nose-to-throat like a horror screening Three a.m. and I’m bargaining hard With a medicine box and a debit card [Pre-Chorus] Don’t take two when the label says one Don’t play hero with a loaded lung No hot chips, no spice, no crime Take your dose at the proper time Don’t mix it, don’t fix it Don’t freestyle the cure Drink your water, shut your mouth Let the damn thing work [Chorus] Fever! Fever! I’m burning out, I’m going down Fever! Fever! My stupid lungs are running this town Hey! Hey! I cough, I choke, I lose my mind Hey! Hey! Six more hours, I’ll be fine [Verse 2] Milk went down like a velvet coat Butter tea for my rebel throat Sour candy, holy shield Tiny little citrus on the battlefield Rain came back and the air got kind Still got static in my skull and spine I’m not dying, I’m just pissed At a cold that came with a coughing twist [Pre-Chorus 2] Don’t raise it, don’t chase it Don’t cut it in half Don’t make the pharmacist spiritually laugh No secret herbs at midnight, man That’s how the chaos all began Don’t snack it, don’t hack it Don’t bargain with pain Take the syrup, count the hours Go insane again [Chorus] Fever! Fever! I’m burning out, I’m going down Fever! Fever! My stupid lungs are running this town Hey! Hey! I cough, I choke, I lose my mind Hey! Hey! Six more hours, I’ll be fine [Bridge] In my fever dream, there’s a man in black With my medicine bag and a judgmental stare He says, “Read the dosage, put the chips back” I say, “Fine, but life’s unfair” He takes my pride He takes my snacks He says, “You’ll live” I say, “That’s whack” [Final Chorus] Fever! Fever! I’m burning out, I’m going down Fever! Fever! My stupid lungs are running this town Hey! Hey! I cough, I choke, I lose my mind Hey! Hey! Six more hours, I’ll be fine Fever! Fever! Honey tongue and rebel throat Fever! Fever! Don’t let me freestyle one more dose [Outro]
