THE GATES OF ETERNITY [Intro – Piano / Orchestra] [Female – Whispered] Beyond the mountains Where the dying rivers flow There stands a gate No living soul should know… [Male – Distant] Turn back. [Female] Who are you? [Male] The last voice That will warn you. [Instrumental] [Verse 1 – Female] We crossed the valley of the fallen We walked beneath a blood-red sky Every shadow watched our footsteps Every raven learned to fly Now the ancient gates before us Rise beyond the fields of stone And the voice that speaks from darkness Sounds too much like my own [Male] You should not have come here You don’t know what waits inside Every soul that crossed these gates Left a piece of it behind [Female] Then tell me why you’re standing there If this place has stolen everything? [Male] Because someone has to remember What the darkness made of me. [Pre-Chorus – Both] [Female] Are you friend or are you enemy? [Male] Does it matter anymore? [Female] If you’re afraid of what is waiting… [Male] Then you’ve understood the war. [Chorus – Both] Open the gates of eternity Let the ancient darkness rise We will walk into the unknown With the fire in our eyes If the world has forgotten us Then we’ll write our names in stone Through the gates of eternity We will find our way back home [Verse 2 – Male] I served the man behind the shadows I believed his words were truth He promised me a world of order When I was barely more than a youth I watched the innocent disappear I heard their final cries And every victory I brought him Left another scar inside [Female] Then why did you remain with him? [Male] Because I was afraid to leave. [Female] And now? [Male] Now I’m afraid to stay. [Pre-Chorus] [Female] Then stand beside me. [Male] You don’t know who I am. [Female] I know what you chose tonight. [Both] And sometimes one decision Can redeem a thousand lies. [Chorus] Open the gates of eternity Let the ancient darkness rise We will walk into the unknown With the fire in our eyes If the world has forgotten us Then we’ll write our names in stone Through the gates of eternity We will find our way back home [Instrumental Passage] [Male Guitar Lead] [Female Guitar Lead] [Harmonized Twin Guitars] [Neoclassical Guitar Solo] [Orchestral Interlude] [Choir] Beyond the gate… Beyond the night… The truth awaits… [Bridge – Dramatic Dialogue] [Male] If we enter… There is no return. [Female] Then we don’t return. [Male] The enemy will hunt us. [Female] Let them come. [Male] You could die. [Female] So could you. [Male] Why do you trust me? [Female] Because you could have killed me. But you didn’t. [Silence] [Male] Then open the gate. [Massive Orchestral Build] [Choir] OPEN THE GATES! [Final Chorus – Full Band] Open the gates of eternity Let the ancient darkness rise We will walk into the unknown With the fire in our eyes If the world has forgotten us Then we’ll write our names in stone Through the gates of eternity We will find our way back home [Final Chorus – Duet / Choir] We are more than our mistakes We are more than what we’ve done Every shadow has an ending Every night gives birth to dawn Through the gates of eternity We will face what waits beyond If the darkness wants our souls Then the darkness will be gone [Final Breakdown] [Male] I was the enemy. [Female] Not anymore. [Both] Then let the gates remember… Who we were. [Choir] WHO WE ARE! [Final Orchestra Hit] [Whispered Female] The gate is open…
