In the age before time, it was written that shadows would spread across the land. The light will fade but not go out completely, an ember will still burn in the dark. The corrupted would stalk the faithful from the shadows, seeking to twist them into wicked creatures like them. Their tortured whispers would fill the air with their lies as they spread their corruption. The prophecy foretold it is always darkest before the dawn. So long as one ember burns, the darkness will not win. The light of the Gods will return. The prophecy foretold the Gods' chosen would be scattered but not broken. It said they keep the light alive in their citadels, far from the reach of the corrupted. Deep below in their forges would glow with holy light to keep the darkness away. At those forges, they would work to craft the means to banish the darkness forever. The prophecy foretold it is always darkest before the dawn. So long as one ember burns, the darkness will not win. The light of the Gods will return. It was written that the faithful would endure the cold and darkness to bring back light to the world. They would work tirelessly at their forges to craft a vessel, one that could carry the light of the Gods. They would not waver in their task, for each one would carry a shard of the Gods' light within. So it was written in the age before time and so it shall be.
