I was haulin' down this lonesome road, My heart was heavy, carryin’ a load. The radio played a song of grace, And I felt your love light up this place. My hands were shakin’, I couldn’t steer, So I called your name, Lord, I need you here. [Chorus] Jesus, take the wheel of my truck, Keep it rollin’ smooth, don’t let it get stuck. Guide it steady, keep it safe and sound, On this highway, Lord, where hope is found. No crashes, no cliffs, just your holy will, Jesus, take the wheel, and guide me still. [Verse 2] The road was rough, the tires worn thin, Temptation whispered, pullin’ me to sin. But I saw your light through the midnight haze, You turned my heart to a better way. With you in the driver’s seat, I’m free, This old pickup’s safe in your decree. [Bridge] Through the curves and the rain, you’re my guide, With your love, Lord, I’ll never slide. No wreck, no fall, you’ve got control, You’re the driver of my weary soul. [Outro] So here’s my keys, Lord, I’m lettin’ go, You know the way that I need to roll. With you in charge, I’ll never stray, Jesus, drive my truck to a brighter day.
