Griefmaw tale

V4.5

🎵 The Ballad of Griefmaw 🎵 (Tune: slow, haunting, with deep drum beats and soft, eerie flute) [Verse 1] In a field where the bones of the fallen lie deep, Where the sorrowful winds through the dusk often weep, A faun told a tale, half-drunk and half-lost, Of the Drunken Kings' war and its terrible cost. [Verse 2] Adena the sprite, with her pirate’s own grin, Spoke of a feast where her tale would begin. A crocodile stuffed, and a kingdom long gone, A lie wrapped in laughter, and magic drawn on. [Chorus] 🎶 Beware, beware the memory’s bite, Where sorrow creeps and steals the light. From bones it rose with psychic scream— Griefmaw, beast of the twilight dream. 🎶 [Verse 3] She told him the tale, and the faun gave a nod, And whispered, “Then cook it, and summon your god.” From her falsehood a beast broke the veil wide, With a howl of lost war and a soul full of pride. [Bridge] Its tail was a hammer, its teeth full of grief, It fed on your memories, silent and brief. If you fought it, your heart would be wrung— Or lost in a vision where sorrow is sung. [Chorus] 🎶 Beware, beware the memory’s bite, Where sorrow creeps and steals the light. From bones it rose with psychic scream— Griefmaw, beast of the twilight dream. 🎶 [Outro – softly spoken or whispered] So tread not the bone field, oh warrior bold, Lest stories forgotten come creeping cold. And a faun ask a question, all too precise: "Would you trade a memory... for passage or vice?"
