On a cold and winters night I looked out on the world Spinning round at the speed of sound The crazy dervish swirl Looking back to younger days To wild and wooly crazy ways I didn’t think I didn’t plan I wasn’t yet a full grown man Day to day was just a note Of an endless song that I wrote Of sun and fun and lots of parties And hanging with my gay and hearties Yet strangely every now and then I’d stop and pause and count to ten I’d take some time to genuflect And spend my thoughts in circumspect I had a thought to make a memory In life, in time to tie my destiny To a precious moment in my life That I could ground myself in the toil and strife My future uncertainty of life I cast my eyes to a solitary stone An ordinary rock all alone on the dirt road at windy point Insignificant Yet when I’m in turmoil And not feeling fine I can think back to that single stone Grounded, balanced, home existing in A moment in time A moment in time I had a thought to make a memory In life, in time to tie my destiny To a precious moment in my life That I could ground myself in the toil and strife The future uncertainty of my life And as I’ve travelled through this life Windy point stone keeps reminding Me Of precious memories that I am finding Of these moments in time Oh these moments in time
