03-04 The Loveland Frong
[Intro] (Sound of crickets and swamp noises) (A single, deep bullfrog croak) (Explosive, fast-paced banjo and washboard kick in) [Verse 1] Well, it was nineteen-seventy-something, down on a lonely road Officer Ray was cruisin' late, expectin' a heavy load He pulled beside the river bank, just to take a little peek When a four-foot-tall amphibian stepped out the muddy creek! I said, he stood up on his hind legs, lookin' right into the lights! And what happened next gave poor ol' Ray the ultimate of frights! [Chorus] (Loud, energetic group harmonies) Oh, the Loveland Frog! (Ribbit!) He’s wearin' an invisible pair of pants! Doin' a weird little, wobbly little, swampy-stomping dance! He’s got leathery skin and a magic wand right there in his hand, The weirdest darn critter in all of the Ohio land! Yeah, the Loveland Frog is out on the loose, Lookin' for a bug or some swampy green juice! [Verse 2] Ray rubbed his weary eyeballs, he couldn't believe his sight The frog pointed that magic stick and sparked up the Midwest night! It fizzed and it popped like a Roman Candle, shootin' sparks into the trees Ray locked his doors, dropped his coffee, and got weak in the knees! He threw the cruiser in reverse, tires kickin' up the clay Yellin', "I didn't go to the academy for this kind of day!" [Banjo Solo] (Blistering, fast-paced, chaotic banjo and fiddle duel) (Occasional frog croaks in the background) [Bridge] (Tempo slows down suddenly, bluesy and dramatic) Now some folks say he’s an alien, from a spaceship in the bog Some say he's just a big iguana, but we know it's the Frog. He don’t want a kiss from a princess... no, he ain't lookin' for a crown... (Tempo speeds back up to maximum speed) He just wants to shoot some magical sparks and terrorize the town! [Guitar Solo] (Fast psychobilly electric guitar riff mixed with slap bass) [Chorus] (Maximum energy, foot-stomping) Oh, the Loveland Frog! [Outro] (Music suddenly stops) (A cappella, four-part barbershop harmony) Watch out for the... Love... land... Froooog! (Silence) (A single, deep, extremely close-mic'd croak) "Ribbit." [End]
