Gosið í Fagradalsfjalli Eldfjall [5th Place - EuroReVision - SummerHit 2026]

[INTRO — Volcano recording only. Deep eruption rumbles, geothermal hissing, distant lava flows, ocean waves and arctic wind.] Fagradalsfjall vaknar... Jörðin andar... Eldur rís... [VERSE 1 — Acoustic guitar, piano, langspil and wooden flute. Volcano ambience underneath.] Yfir svörtu hrauni göngum við í ljósinu. Miðnætursólin lýsir eldi undir himninum. Glóandi ár um dali, nýtt land rís úr jörð. Vindur ber með sér söngva, hjarta Íslands slær. [PRE-CHORUS — Rising synths, folk fiddle harmonies, volcanic pulses increasing.] Ó, sjáðu eldinn lifa, ó, sjáðu ljósið skína. Ó, sjáðu jörðina vakna, undir sumarsólinni. [CHORUS — Full drums, warm bass, soaring synths, whistle hook.] Fagradalsfjall! Eldur og ljós! Yfir svörtu hrauni, ó-ó-ó! Fagradalsfjall! Kraftur jarðar! Undir endalausri sól, ó-ó-ó! [DROP — Four-on-the-floor drums, whistle lead, langspil melody, lava crackles as percussion.] Ó-ó-ó! Ó-ó-ó! Fagra-dals-fjall! Fagra-dals-fjall! Eldur! Ljós! Eldur! Ljós! Jörðin vaknar! Jörðin vaknar! Ó-ó-ó! Ó-ó-ó! [VERSE 2 — Acoustic instruments return with volcanic ambience.] Vorið kom með eldinn, árið tvö þúsund tuttugu og eitt. Dalir fylltust glóðum, eldur fann sér leið. Nýtt hraun yfir dali, ný jörð fæddist þar. Við stöndum hér og horfum, á kraft sem lifir enn. [PRE-CHORUS — Building energy.] Ó, sjáðu eldinn lifa, ó, sjáðu ljósið skína. Ó, sjáðu jörðina vakna, undir sumarsólinni. [CHORUS — Bigger harmonies.] Fagradalsfjall! Eldur og ljós! Yfir svörtu hrauni, ó-ó-ó! Fagradalsfjall! Kraftur jarðar! Undir endalausri sól, ó-ó-ó! [BREAKDOWN — Piano, wooden flute, ocean waves, distant volcanic rumble.] Við göngum áfram, yfir nýtt hraun. Við finnum frelsi, í eldi og ljósi. Við göngum áfram, undir björtum himni. Við finnum kraftinn, í hjarta jarðar. [BUILD — Tectonic vibrations, rising synths, layered harmonies.] Fagradalsfjall! Fagradalsfjall! Jörðin andar! Jörðin andar! Eldur rís! Eldur rís! Ó-ó-ó! Ó-ó-ó! [FINAL CHORUS — Maximum energy, cinematic harmonies, whistle hook.] Fagradalsfjall! Eldur og ljós! Yfir svörtu hrauni, ó-ó-ó! Fagradalsfjall! Kraftur jarðar! Undir endalausri sól, ó-ó-ó! Fagradalsfjall! Fagradalsfjall! Eldur og ljós! Eldur og ljós! [OUTRO — Volcano recording remains alone. Ocean waves, arctic wind, fading eruption rumble.] Ó-ó-ó... Ó-ó-ó... Fagradalsfjall... Jörðin andar... Eldur lifir... Fagradalsfjall... ----------------------------------- Translation of the lyrics in English: [Intro] Fagradalsfjall awakens... The Earth breathes... Fire rises... [Verse 1] Across the black lava, we walk in the light. The midnight sun illuminates the fire beneath the sky. Glowing rivers flow through valleys, new land rises from the Earth. The wind carries songs, the heart of Iceland beats. [Pre-Chorus] Oh, see the fire come alive, oh, see the light shine. Oh, see the Earth awaken, beneath the summer sun. [Chorus] Fagradalsfjall! Fire and light! Across the black lava, oh-oh-oh! Fagradalsfjall! Power of the Earth! Beneath the endless sun, oh-oh-oh! [Drop] Oh-oh-oh! Oh-oh-oh! Fagra-dals-fjall! Fagra-dals-fjall! Fire! Light! Fire! Light! The Earth awakens! The Earth awakens! Oh-oh-oh! Oh-oh-oh! [Verse 2] Spring came with the fire, in the year twenty twenty-one. The valleys filled with glowing embers, the fire found its way. New lava spread across the valleys, new land was born there. We stand here and watch, a force that still lives on. [Breakdown] We keep walking, across new lava. We find freedom, in fire and light. We keep walking, beneath bright skies. We find the power, in the heart of the Earth. [Build] Fagradalsfjall! Fagradalsfjall! The Earth breathes! The Earth breathes! Fire rises! Fire rises! Oh-oh-oh! Oh-oh-oh!
