[Intro – spoken over slow piano, distant choir] [Spoken, Fatherly gentle baritone] Jerusalem…My Jerusalem I warned you long before the dust would rise. [Verse 1 – Christ’s prophecy] I stood inside the temple walls, Where faithful voices prayed. Your fathers built this house for Me— From truths they soon betrayed. You praised the stone and polished gold But left My covenant alone… And sorrow filled My voice that day: “Not one shall stand—one stone.” [Pre-Chorus] I spoke not out of anger then, Before the shofar calls. [Chorus] Not one stone upon another When cov'nants are undone. No holy wall can stand forever When My living word is shunned. I plead before the thunder cries, Before the seeds of wrath are sown— Return while mercy still remains… Before not one stone STANDS on stone. [Verse 2] Before those Roman armies marched, An earlier warning came. Jeremiah cried through Babylon Decreed My solemn claim: “The empire proud that burns My house Shall fail to hold its own— For every stone they cast aside Upon their plow is thrown.” [Pre-Chorus] For kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall Beneath My covenant throne— And every heart must choose its king against the hour as yet unknown. [Chorus] Not one stone upon another Where evil hearts have claimed the crown. Not one tower stands unshaken When the truth itself bends down. I warned the kings of Babylon Before their seeds were sown— For every "throne" that fights My law Will find its stones overthrown. And Darius swore by royal seal No man should harm My throne. Even kings in foreign lands Could see what hearts had shown: A house that guards My covenants Holds strength beyond all stone. [Bridge – Levitical parable, quiet] Long before the temple rose I showed you what I mean— If sickness spreads within the walls The house must be made clean. Bricks removed where rot had grown, Till holiness alone— For better broken walls repaired Than sickness shrined in stone. [Final Chorus – covenant continuity] Not one stone upon another Where "Babylon" finds its home— Yet every soul that keeps My law Becomes My living stone. The covenant has never changed, Its promise still is known: Life to those who walk My way… Dung-heaps where pride's o'ergrown. [Final Bridge – soft, pleading] Children of Israel… Children of every land… Children...take my hand— The covenant still stands. Choose you this day, My Child... What kingdom supplies your stones. [Re-Echo – An appeal to every root] Nebuchadnezzar learned in dust What pride had never known. And Darius swore by royal seal No man should harm My throne. [Final Plea] Jerusalem… Jerusalem… Jerusalem… Jerusalem... Jerusalem... Jerusalem— My Jerusalem The covenant still stands. My Jerusalem... Jerusalem... Jerusalem… Jerusalem— Jerusalem… Jerusalem... Jerusalem... [Outro - Spoken, Fatherly gentle baritone] My Jerusalem— I warned you
