[Verse 1]I'd rather have Jesus than silver or goldI'd rather be His than have riches untoldI'd rather have Jesus than houses or landI'd rather be led by His nail-scarred handThan to be a king of a vast domainOr be held in sin's dread swayI'd rather have Jesus than anythingThis world affords today[Verse 2]I'd rather have Jesus than men's applauseI'd rather be faithful to His dear causeI'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fameI'd rather be true to His holy nameThan to be a king of a vast domainOr be held in sin's dread swayI'd rather have Jesus than anythingThis world affords today
