Track 34 - ISAIAH - "Here Am I"

Verse 1: In the year King Uzziah died, He saw Jehovah on high, Seraphim with six wings called, "Holy, holy," was their cry. The doorposts shook, the temple filled, With smoke before his eyes, "Woe is me, I'm ruined now, A man of unclean lips am I." Chorus: "Here am I, send me," When the coal touched his lips, "Here am I, send me," Though the message would eclipse. A virgin will conceive a son, Immanuel, God with us, The suffering servant, pierced for our sins, In him we place our trust. Verse 2: "Go and tell this people," God said, "Keep on hearing, but don't understand, Keep on seeing, but don't perceive," A hardened, stubborn land. "How long, O Jehovah?" Isaiah asked, "Until cities lie in waste, Until the land is utterly desolate," Judgment they would taste. Chorus: "Here am I, send me," When the coal touched his lips, "Here am I, send me," Though the message would eclipse. A virgin will conceive a son, Immanuel, God with us, The suffering servant, pierced for our sins, In him we place our trust. Bridge: "Comfort, comfort my people," The prophet's voice would say, "In the wilderness prepare the way, For Jehovah's glory day." He was pierced for our transgressions, Crushed for our iniquities, The punishment that brought us peace, Was upon him, our disease. Final Chorus: "Here am I, send me," When the coal touched his lips, "Here am I, send me," Though the message would eclipse. A virgin will conceive a son, Immanuel, God with us, The suffering servant, pierced for our sins, In him we place our trust. New heavens and new earth he saw, Where righteousness will dwell, The prophet's vision, clear and true, God's purpose he would tell.
