Song 9: "The Return of the Repressed" (Intro: Creepy funky bassline with echoing whispers and quirky synths) [Verse 1] It comes back at night when you think you’re finally free That thing you buried deep down inside of me You thought you forgot it, you thought it was gone But the repressed always returns with a brand new song [Pre-Chorus] It whispers in your ear when the lights go low “Hello old friend… did you miss me so?” [Chorus] The Return of the Repressed! (Repressed!) It never really left The Return of the Repressed! (Repressed!) It’s living in your head [Verse 2] You pushed it in a box and nailed the lid down tight But it chewed through the wood on a lonely Tuesday night Now it’s dancing in your kitchen wearing your own face Laughing at your therapy and your expensive taste [Bridge – Chaotic & playful] Repress it! Deny it! Suppress it! Defy it! It always comes back to bite! [Chorus – Bigger & groovier] The Return of the Repressed! (Repressed!) Say hello to your past The Return of the Repressed! (Repressed!) It’s here at last (Outro: Funky riff with fading creepy laughter) “Miss me?”
