Black Disguise

V6

[Intro — Phone Talk] Voice: SILL-E… what if the truth don’t look like truth? SILL-E: Maybe that’s why fear keeps missing it. [Beat drops] [Hook — Melodic] Some truths wear a black disguise, so fear won’t recognize ’em, God put gold inside the pressure, I just had to get behind it. Dark clouds over my head, but I know the sun still shining, What I thought was my downfall was the Lord realigning. Some truths wear a black disguise, so fear won’t recognize ‘em, I was looking for a rescue, God was changing what’s inside me. I couldn’t see the blessing ’cause the struggle had me blinded, Now I thank Him for the nights that forced my soul to find Him. [Verse 1] I had prayers on repeat, same words, different night, “Lord, if You hear me, can You make this thing right?” He ain’t move the pieces, He changed how I played, Took the panic from my chest, put some patience in its place. I wanted every answer, He gave me better vision, I thought I needed open doors, He gave me better decisions. Funny how the darkest room can teach you what you’re worth, Sometimes God gotta pull the curtains just to show you what’s beneath the surface. I called it bad timing, He called it preparation, I called it being stuck, He called it transformation. Now I walk different— not because the road got smoother, I just stopped asking fear to tell me what God was doing. [Hook] Some truths wear a black disguise, so fear won’t recognize ’em, God put gold inside the pressure, I just had to get behind it. Dark clouds over my head, but I know the sun still shining, What I thought was my downfall was the Lord realigning. [Verse 2 — Faster Rap] Yeah— I was staring at the setback like it came to take my name, God was using every setback just to rearrange my frame. Had me looking at the mirror, had me questioning the man, Then I realized the answer wasn’t changing up the plan. It was changing up the heart, changing up the motive, changing how I carry every burden that I hold in. I wanted quick results, God was working in the slow, I wanted Him to show me— He said, “Trust Me while you go.” That’s faith. No spotlight, still moving. No applause, still proving. No clear path, still choosing the narrow road I’m pursuing. Fear said, “You lost.” Faith said, “Not yet.” Fear said, “You’re finished.” God said, “Not even close.” Now every scar got meaning, every loss got a lesson, every unanswered prayer became spiritual direction. [Outro — Spoken] I used to be afraid of what the darkness might reveal. Now I understand… God doesn’t waste the dark. Sometimes He hides the lesson inside something you’re afraid to touch. And when the disguise comes off… you realize— the thing you feared was part of what God used to free you.
