[Verse 1] From the ash-red gate He stands alone Crown of cinders On a blackened throne Muspelheim breathes Through his furnace hands He writes his law On the ruined land [Pre-Chorus] Hear the mountain split Hear the oceans bend Every locked-down world Finds its violent end [Chorus] Surtr rises Surtr rises Fire takes the throne Surtr rises Surtr rises Nothing stays unburned [Verse 2] King of the giants With a furnace stare He turns stone to rain And smoke to prayer No iron wall Can hold that tide No human heart Can tell it to hide [Pre-Chorus] Hear the mountain split Hear the oceans bend Every stolen dawn Returns as flame again [Chorus] Surtr rises Surtr rises Fire takes the throne Surtr rises Surtr rises Nothing stays unburned [Bridge] Before the ruin There is a spark Before the dawn The whole world darks Break me down Then make me new That is the law He drags us through [Final Chorus] Surtr rises Surtr rises Fire takes the throne Surtr rises Surtr rises Nothing stays unburned Surtr rises Surtr rises Fate is not our own
