(Intro) Yeah... look... That old life ain't workin' no more... It's a trap... a dead end. Gotta feel this in your chest... right here. This ain't for your ears... this is for your soul. (Verse 1) Look, the Man said it straight, eyes locked on mine, "Unless you're born again, you're just doin' time." Nicodemus, top dog, still couldn't feel the heat, "How I go back to the womb?" he asked?... (well....) He was talkin' 'bout the flesh, the blood, the bone, But the message was for the spirit, on a different throne... (different throne) It's an intimate thing, this rebirth, this surrender, Leting that old version of you become a past offender. (past offender) (Pre-Chorus) All the old fears and the things that kept you low... It's time to let 'em go. (Oh, it's time to let 'em go...) (Chorus) Yeah, you gotta feel that old skin peel... Leave the dead weight behind, make this thing real. It's a deep breath... a surrender to the fire, Washed in the Spirit... takin' you higher. (higher...) (Verse 2) Humans make humans... that's a truth you can't erase, But the Spirit gives new life, puts a smile on your face. So don't be shocked when I tell you, you gotta switch the whole game, Like the wind you can't see... you just feel it callin' your name. It's a soft touch, a pressure on your soul you can't explain, The old you drowning'... the new you in the rain. (in the rain) (Verse 3) He said, "You're a wise man, but you don't get the sign," "I'm tellin' you what I know, from a heavenly design." "But you don't believe the earthly things, the facts I put in view," "So how you gonna believe the heavenly things, the stuff that's truly new?" He broke it down, no flinch, no turnin' back, He's the only one who came back, the only one on that track. (on that track) (Pre-Chorus) All the old fears and the things that kept you low... (higher...) (Verse 4) So there ain't no judgment, if you believe in the Son, But if you don't, the verdict's already come. The light hit the streets, but you loved the shadows more, Hidden in the darkness... knockin' on a different door. You ran from the daylight, for fear of what it showed, Refused to let the truth lift your heavy load... (your heavy load) But the ones who do right, they step into the glow, So everyone can see what they're doing, you know? (Bridge) See, the Son of Man was lifted, for the whole world to see, A final, painful act, to set us all free. God loved us so much... gave His one and only son, (His only son) So that anyone who believes... will have a new life begun. This ain't no casual promise, this ain't no empty plea, This is a blood oath, my friend... for you and for me. (for you and me) (Pre-Chorus) All the old fears and the things that kept you low... (higher...) (Verse 5) See, the old is gone, my friend, the new is here... That heavy burden, that shame, that old fear. He makes all things new, a promise true and deep... While the world's still sleeping, he's a secret that you keep. He’s creating a new song, for your mouth to sing... A joyful echo of the hope that He brings. ................... yea... It's just a deep breath... a surrender to the fire, Washed in the Spirit... takin' you higher. (higher...) ........... (just higher...) ....... (Outro) Yeah... it's a choice... Every single day... The cold concrete... or a love that burns so hot... It'll melt the chains right off you... That's real... that's what it is.
