Keep the Grind, Keep the Glow

Family taught me early, you show up every day Even when it’s tiring, that’s how you find your way They say the future’s coming where you never have to try But I’m still choosing effort — that’s what keeps me high Optional work? That’s cute, but not for me I’m built for the grind, that’s where my strength sets free Laziness looks easy, but it steals your fire slow I’ll keep on working, watch my character grow They promise easy living, no struggle, no sweat But something deep inside me knows that ain’t the best Comfort can be tempting, but it weakens the bone I want the satisfaction of a hard-won throne Optional work? That’s cute, but not for me I’m built for the grind, that’s where my strength sets free Laziness looks easy, but it steals your fire slow I’ll keep on working, watch my character glow Work builds the soul, honey, that’s the truth I know Perseverance makes me stronger, helps me shine and grow They can say it’s optional, but I still choose the grind ‘Cause a heart that keeps on working never falls behind Optional work? That’s cute, but not for me… (not for me!) I’m built for the grind, that’s where my strength sets free… I’ll keep on working… watch my character grow… (Fade with harmonies: Keep the grind… keep the glow… never let it go…) [Music and Lyrics by Jennifer Leigh Nelson © 2025 Cajora Creations, LLC.
