Psalm 040 - A Song of Deliverance

V4.5

I waited, waited for the Lord— He bent to hear my cry. From miry clay, from sinking depths, He set my feet on high. Now praise springs up within my mouth, A new song in my soul! Many will see, will learn to trust, And bend to His control. Blessed are those who make the Lord Their refuge and delight, Who turn from pride and idols vain To walk in heaven’s light. Countless, O God, Your deeds of love, Your wonders none can tell! No sacrifice could match Your grace— Your law my heart knows well. I’ve preached Your truth to all who’d hear, Your righteousness proclaimed. You know, my God, I do not hide The mercy You’ve ordained. But troubles surge—my sins return, My strength begins to fail. O Lord, be swift to rescue me, Let foes not see my ail! Yet all who seek You shout for joy, “The Lord be magnified!” Though I am weak, You are my help— My Savior at my side.
