[Intro] (wind blowing, distant bagpipes) From the west where the wild winds cry Boots on stone and a stormy sky Coins in pocket, fire in soul Set my feet on the rocky road Hey! ⸻ [Verse 1] Well I left my home at the break of dawn With a ragged coat and my boots half worn Mother’s blessing, whiskey strong Said “Boy be brave where you belong” Road was long and the rain came down Mud and thunder across the ground Every mile my heart beat loud For the gates of Dublin town ⸻ [Pre-Chorus] Dust and thunder in my veins Songs of rebels, Irish names Every stone beneath my feet Drums the rhythm of the street ⸻ [Chorus] Rocky road! Rocky road! Hear the pipes begin to roar Rocky road! Rocky road! Marching to old Dublin’s door Raise your glass and sing it loud Let the thunder shake the ground Rocky road! Rocky road! To the heart of Dublin town! ⸻ [Verse 2] Met some rogues along the way Card sharp smiles and games to play Coins went flying, fists were thrown But a stubborn man walks on alone Through the valleys, through the rain Through the laughter and the pain Every tavern knew my name Every road burned like a flame ⸻ [Pre-Chorus] Fiddle screaming through the night Bodhrán drums begin the fight Every rebel voice I hear Pulls me closer, drawing near ⸻ [Chorus] Rocky road! Rocky road! Hear the pipes begin to roar Rocky road! Rocky road! Marching to old Dublin’s door Raise your glass and sing it loud Let the thunder shake the ground Rocky road! Rocky road! To the heart of Dublin town! ⸻ [Bridge – instrumental break / trap drop] (bodhrán + 808 beat + bagpipe melody) Hey! Hey! Hey! Crowd chants: Run the road! Run the road! Run the road to Dublin town! ⸻ [Final Chorus – massive choir] Rocky road! Rocky road! Let the wild winds carry on Rocky road! Rocky road! Sing it loud till night is gone Raise your glass and stand up proud Let the bagpipes scream out loud Rocky road! Rocky road! To the heart of Dublin town! ⸻ [Outro] (bagpipes fading into wind) Through the storm and through the rain Every mile was worth the pain If the road calls once again I’ll walk that rocky road again.
