The Last Echo
A song in collaboration with @princevinceart -----INTRO----- "I just never listen before?" I used to lose myself in a glowing screen, a world of voices I could never touch The days blurred together, they slipped through my hands, while the world outside grew tired of waiting for me I thought I’d have time- i thought they’d stay- but the laughter stopped- and no one called my name I can't get out of this maze of code, Where should I go on this endless road? I can see only wires and the endless dark, What should I do to see even a spark? The digital world was exciting at first, What do I do now? Am I forever lost? The streets are quiet, the air feels thin i hear the hum of what might have been The screens I loved lie broken and cold, their stories untold, their faces grown old I see their smiles in the cracks of the stone, i feel their warmth though I walk alone I can't get out of this maze of code, Where should I go on this endless road? I can see only wires and the endless dark, What should I do to see even a spark? The digital world was exciting at first, What do I do now? Am I forever lost? I didn’t mean to let them go, i thought the world would wait for me But the days turned to years, and I turned my back. Now I scream to the empty skies, i beg for a voice-a hand-a sign But the echoes are all I hear— the pieces of a world disappeared... I can't get out of this maze of code, Where should I go on this endless road? I can see only wires and the endless dark, What should I do to see even a spark? The digital world was exciting at first, What do I do now? Am I forever lost? If I had known I’d have opened the door if I had known I’d have given them more But now it’s too late, the moment has passed and I walk alone through a world that won’t last -----FINAL-----
