The Latest of Mankind
Once upon a drifting flight, Through endless stars, past realms of light, I found a world so much like ours, Beneath familiar skies and stars. People walked with steady grace, Yet something strange upon each face. No lips, no mouths, no voice to find - A silence vast, yet so refined. I felt no fear, but deep concern, A mystery waiting to discern. I turned and asked my Angel guide, “Why are their mouths extinct and void? He paused, then sighed - a solemn tone, “The reason, child, is deeply known.” “Think of your kind, what you became - How words have played their bitter game.” “Your tongues have sown the seeds of hate, Divided lands, decided fate. What once spoke love turned into war, What once healed wounds cut even more.” “Your species - gone, extinct at last, Lost in the echoes of your past. Borders built where none should be, A world in chains that should be free.” “So God, in wisdom, wiped away The mouths that led you all astray. No more lies, no more deceit- Only hearts where souls can meet.” I asked, “But how do they survive? Without a mouth, how stay alive?” The Angel smiled, his voice so light, “Their nourishment is Love, not might.” “Without love’s touch, they fade, they die, For Love is breath, their earth, their sky. They hold to Love with all their grace, For in its arms, they find their place.” I gazed upon this world so new, A silent land, yet pure and true. No words, no tongues, no war, no strife - Just Love- the only source of life.
