The Living Ledger Leads Them (Ver 2)
"The Living Ledger Leads Them" Duty calls in whispers cold, A fractured mind, a heart grown old. Through shadowed halls, I walk alone, Chasing a truth I’ve never known. The war is over, but I still hear The fallen calling through the years. An ally lost, an enemy risen, A broken path, a truth imprisoned. The dagger rusts, the power fades, The world collapses beneath the weight. I fought for victory, fought for a cause, But what is left when the battle is lost? The walls close in, the visions burn, Every road I walk returns. A mercenary, broken, blind, Chasing answers left behind. In the shadows, a figure stands, The Dark Elf, with power in his hands. A heart of gold, but eyes of flame, A soul unbroken, bearing no shame. The forbidden door is calling me, Locked beyond what I can see. A barrier standing, a secret inside, Something waiting on the other side. Through shattered glass, through endless night, I follow the creature's silent sign. If the truth is waiting behind that door, I have to know what I’m fighting for. On the highest floor, the doorway stood, Sealed against me like it knew it could. I searched for keys, I begged for aid, Spoke to spectrals, the spirits’ shade. Violence was the answer then in sight, I kicked the door with all my might. But still I could not cross the line, A barrier invisible, sharp, divine. Then one small creature stepped from the shade, A flickering light that darkness had made. It raised its hand with motions slow, A gesture strange with power to show. I tried to follow, mimic the sign, Feel my aura, connect the line. The barrier cracked and withdrew, The forbidden door finally opened through. The forbidden door, locked away, A mystery deep, none can sway. Through silence and shadows, I will find What waits behind, what calls my mind. The barrier stands, the game now played, Through the spirit’s gaze, the truth displayed. The locked door is finally overthrown, And what waits beyond is still unknown. Glass cases reflect the fading light, Each one whispering into the night. A secret, a treasure, a fate to unfold, A story forgotten, ancient and cold. Beyond the door, the truth was clear, An entity’s presence drawing near. The creature’s eyes became the sign, A fate entwined, a soul aligned. One of them called me, cold and clear, A presence drawing ever near. The creature watched, its eyes aglow, As if it already knew what I’d know. He watched the Giant conquer the land, With blood and fire at his command. They followed Shidden, believing his name, Until every victory became their shame. The world he conquered, the blood he spilled, The strength he wielded, the dreams they killed. But the Dark Elf stood apart, With peace and wisdom in his heart. Shidden was wrong, we saw too late, A path of destruction, endless hate. While he led us to war, to death and despair, The Dark Elf stood still, in peace, aware. Shidden’s path led us astray, But the Dark Elf showed another way. Through darkness and shadows, through fire and flame, He walked his own path and carried no shame. We are the clones, we live, we die, Each time we fall, we rise and try. No souls within, no fate to choose, We live to serve, we live to lose. We become Him, a gain and a gain, In this endless cycle, we’ll never end. A thousand lives, one endless chain, His blood runs through us, a gain and a gain.
