Old But Above It All (Leonid Latynin)

///*****/// [Intro] [Verse1] You lost your glasses on the moon, I found them near a flying room, The pigeons stole your Sunday hat, You said, “Well, let them have a chat.” The town below was late again, The clocks were shouting in the rain, You took my arm, I took your cake, We danced until the rooftops shook awake. [Pre-Chorus] Oh darling, don’t look down, don’t stall, We’re old, ridiculous, and tall. [Chorus] Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, The roofs may crack, the clocks may call, But we’re still cute above it all. Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, A little bent, a little small, But we’re still hot above it all. [Instrumental] [Verse2] Your knees go click, my back goes pop, We still refuse to ever stop, You call me “angel,” I say “hush,” Then nearly fall into a velvet bush. The houses wobble in the sky, The seagulls watch us drifting by, You fix your coat, I fix your grin, And then we kiss with absolutely no shame in it. [Pre-Chorus] Oh honey, let the young ones crawl, We’ve got more style than all of y’all. [Chorus] Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, The roofs may crack, the clocks may call, But we’re still cute above it all. Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, A little bent, a little small, But we’re still hot above it all. [Bridge] We’ve got wrinkles, we’ve got flair, We’ve got floating houses in the air, We’ve got biscuits, we’ve got grace, We’ve got wind and time all over our face. We’ve got nothing much to prove, Just a funny little sky-high groove, If love’s absurd, then let it be — Absurd looks pretty good on me. [Hook] Above it all! Above it all! Still in love! Still got gall! Above it all! Above it all! Still look good! For a hundred years old! [Chorus] Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, The roofs may crack, the clocks may call, But we’re still cute above it all. Old but above it all, Above it all, above it all, A little bent, a little small, But we’re still hot above it all. [Outro] Old... but above it all, Above it all, above it all... Still in love, still absurd, Still the finest thing you ever saw. [End]
