(Verse 1) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. When the world was young and the people multiplied, Angels walked among us in human guise. They saw our daughters' beauty, and their hearts were filled, So they took them as wives, and their love became pride. The Lord looked down from heaven, His heart heavy with sorrow, "I'll not strive with man forever, for he's but flesh and bone. His days will be numbered, like the sands of the shore, For his heart has turned away, and I must close the door." (Chorus) No more shall the waters retreat, Nor the Spirit dwell in man's breast. When the mighty ones came down, And their seed was planted, the judgment began. (Verse 2) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were heroes of old, warriors of renown. Giants walked the earth in that ancient time, Sons of God and flesh intertwined. Their strength was legendary, their deeds echoed far, Yet their hearts were corrupt, and they fell from the stars. The Lord saw wickedness, violence filling the land, Every intent of man's heart was only evil continually. He said, "I'll wipe them out, both man and beast, For their sin has reached up to heaven, and I cannot be silent." (Chorus) No more shall the waters recede, As the floodgates open wide. When the Lord saw their sin, He sent His judgment from on high. (Bridge) But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Yet in the midst of chaos, a voice cried out for grace, Noah walked with God, and he found his resting place. In the days of the flood, when all hope was lost, He built an ark to save what was left at all costs. (Verse 3) The Lord said, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. The end was near, the clock had struck midnight, The Lord's patience wore thin, like a threadbare coat. But one man stood righteous, his heart pure and true, Noah, who would build an ark, and see His people through. (Chorus) When the rains began to fall, And the floodwaters rose high, In the heart of the storm, There was hope in the form of a humble man's cry. (Outro) By faith, Noah, being divinely warned about events yet unseen, moved with godly fear, and he built an ark to save his household and animals two by two. The waters receded, and a new world emerged, Noah stepped out onto the earth, his heart filled with thanks. He had weathered the storm, and in him was born A promise of life, from the ashes of loss.
