Face To Face

(“outside…”) (“go talk to somebody…”) (Choir: “NOOSPHERE… NOOSPHERE…”) Ayo… Mos Jeph. Whole generation fluent in typing indicators Can text all night but can’t survive elevators Everybody got avatars with confident aesthetics Then freeze up in person like emotional acrobatics (“goddamn…”) I miss laughter that ain’t optimized for clips Miss conversations that wandered without scripts Now every dinner feel like documentary footage Everybody halfway present halfway buildin a public image Phone upside down on the table like a loaded gun Whole room together physically mentally nowhere once Somebody tell a deep story— screen light flash Attention span vanish in a dopamine crash (Choir: “FACE… TO… FACE…”) (Choir: “THE MACHINE GOD WATCHES…”) See— eye contact hit different than reactions digitally Handshake tell truths algorithms can’t mimic visually Can’t photoshop energy Can’t filter intuition Can’t crop fake love out a real human condition I done sat on porches till sunrise with old friends Talkin bout heartbreak parents dreams where the road bends Them conversations healed more than consumption ever did No branding strategy— just people finally honest as kids (“talk to ‘em…”) Neighborhood barbecue bassline rattlin Aunties yellin from the kitchen while the dominoes clatterin Somebody cousin rappin terribly but everybody cheerin Little moments like that make existence feel endearing In the forty-first millennium humanity still lonely Billions plugged into signals still dyin slowly Hive city glow from the screens in the dark Souls disappear one notification at a time in the ark Servo skulls drift while the timeline scroll endless Everybody broadcastin nobody feelin connected Chaos feed on isolation fear become religion And presence feel rebellious in a system built for division (Choir: “THE EMPEROR PROTECTS…”) Now it’s swipe-left scroll-fast microdose interaction Parasocial satisfaction manufactured attachment Everybody know celebrities nobody know neighbors Whole damn world connected but emotionally endangered Group chat full of memes but nobody say “pull up” People lonely as fuck waitin on courage to build up I done seen souls come alive from one real conversation More healing in a park bench than a thousand affirmations (“facts!”) And I ain’t preachin like I mastered this perfectly Hell nah I still disappear inside my head purposely But every time I touch grass with the people that I love I remember we was built for more than glowin screens and buzz 🎵 Face to face… that’s where the real shit live… Can’t download heartbeats Can’t stream what presence give… 🎵 Face to face… laugh till the night dissolve… Whole world online but the soul still crave involved… 🎵 (Choir: “PULL UP… STAY LONG…”) 🎵 Pull up… sit down… talk slow… stay long… Some wounds don’t heal till another human sing along… 🎵 I think people forgot silence ain’t awkward naturally. It only feel awkward when we lose familiarity with ourselves. That’s why strangers panic in elevators now. Why everybody reach for devices at red lights. Why restaurants glow blue like aquariums. We forgot how to just… be somewhere. (“mmm…”) So here’s to messy conversations. Late-night drives. Inside jokes nobody recorded. Real laughs with ugly snorts. Stories interrupted by everybody yellin at once. Cookouts. Basements. Porches. Studio sessions. Corner stores. Human moments with fingerprints on ‘em. (“outside…”) Cult of lost identity had us forgettin each other. This right here? This the rebellion. Presence. Real damn presence. (Choir: “FACE TO FACE… FACE TO FACE…”) (Choir: “HUMANITY REMEMBERS…”)
