[Intro, instrumental solo] [Verse 1] Friday night, same routine, Cheap perfume and dopamine, Smiling faces, shiny lies, Lost ourselves in flashing lights. [Pre-Chorus] We forget who we are, when the bass gets loud, Every broken dream just blends into the crowd. [Chorus 1] Weekend amnesia, We don’t remember pain. We dance like anesthesia, Until we feel okay. Wake up on a Monday, Don’t know where we’ve been — Weekend amnesia, Let’s do it all again. [Verse 2] Plastic love and borrowed highs, Say “forever” with our eyes, But when sunlight hits our skin, We start pretending once again. Pre-Chorus (repeat) We forget who we are, when the bass gets loud, Every broken dream just blends into the crowd. [Chorus 2] Weekend amnesia, We don’t remember pain. We dance like anesthesia, Until we feel okay. Wake up on a Monday, Don’t know where we’ve been — Weekend amnesia, Let’s do it all again. [Instrumental Solo] [Bridge, techno elements arrived] Call it therapy, Or temporary peace, Forget the truth, forget the rules, Forget you, forget me. [Final Chorus, modulation vocals] Weekend amnesia, Erase the night before. We’re happy when it’s louder, We’re empty when it’s more. Wake up on a Monday, Hearts in lost and found — Weekend amnesia, Till next time around. [Outro]
