Heaven Leave A Light On For Me (The Truth)

[Verse 1] I finished that bottle of whiskey And tomorrow I’ll pay for my sins But the hell I'll pay won't be enough to stop me again One step closer to heaven But two more beers away from hell It hits you most when you fall and God knows you already fell Oh heaven, leave a light on for me [Instrumental Break] [Verse 2] Some will stop for a day and others maybe for a year There's always a buddy hanging around willing to buy you that next beer Sometimes the only way to heaven is spend a little time in hell Crossing those white lines, doing the time, seeing life through a prison cell Oh heaven, leave a light on for me [Chorus] Oh God, send me an angel Finally sets me free From the devil that buys me another round and swears he's Saint Pete Oh heaven, leave a light on for me [Verse 3] My daddy, he once told me, "Boy, nothing's as it seems" With a thousand friends on Facebook, you can maybe trust only three When a brother falls, most walk away, you stand and you be firm 'Cause you never know when the devil's coming and it's your turn Oh heaven, leave a light on for me [Chorus] Oh God, send me an angel Finally sets me free From the devil that buys me another round and swears he's Saint Pete Oh heaven, leave a light on for me [Outro] Oh God, send me an angel Finally sets me free From the devil that buys me another round and swears he's Saint Pete Oh heaven, leave a light on for me
