Wake Cycle Study No. 6: Hypersomnia Drift Cycle (Remix)
[Section A - Dim Light, Slow Fade-In] Morning breaks, but I don’t. The alarm taps my skull with gentle violence. I reach for it with half a conscious thought, miss, try again, and the world jumps forward ten minutes without warning. [Section B - Time Skip Pulse] Snooze- and the clock teleports. Snooze- and the sun moves positions. I drift in and out like a bad signal trying to reconnect. My body’s awake in theory- but not in practice. [Section C - Glitch-Chorus] time skips I’m drowning in daylight that hasn’t even started I should feel rested but the rest won’t stay it slides right off me like cold water. [Section D - Morning Lag] I peel myself from the mattress, a ghost dragging its echo. Gravity feels personal today. Each step a negotiation my bones don’t agree to. I tell myself “up,” but my body replies “try again later.” [Section E - Micro-Hook] I sleep and sleep but never arrive. I wake but stay unfinished. [Section F - Dream Residue] There’s a fog behind my eyes thick enough to trip on. I scrape my consciousness off the inside of my skull hoping it’ll stick for once. The morning keeps sprinting while I move in frames. [Outro - Soft Collapse Into Daylight] I stare at the mirror, half here, half elsewhere. Another day already started without waiting for me. I step into it anyway, carrying the tired that sleep refused to fix.
