writer's note ❗Currently, we are sending you music that won't make you feel depressed after the holidays lol I've been talking a lot about " the Rippingtones feat Russ Freeman" (always too long name !!) since the end of last year, and this time I studied and imitated "Tourist in Paradise," arguably the song that first made them famous. https://youtu.be/HvmGU8eTtU8?si=MGU1IEGlQ8q1YHUw Actually, this was the first song I heard on the GRP label, and what really impressed me was Carl Anderson's powerful scat singing on this lyric-less instrumental but he passed away 20 years ago, and he was a star singer, even the lead singer of Jesus Christ Superstar. My persona, Dovah is also very good at this kind of thing even he is AI, So when Dovah showed off a similar scat singing technique on my song, I felt like had discovered something amazing lol Russ Freeman, the leader of the Ripping Tones and great guitarist, is one of pioneer of smooth jazz, and the greatest feature of his songs is that his melodies are "always catchy". I think this was a benefit I inherited from studying his music. https://youtu.be/HvmGU8eTtU8?si=MGU1IEGlQ8q1YHUw ========== [Intro] [Instrumental Hook] [Verse 1] Beyond the horizon, where light and water dance where the sea and sky meet, The place of spirits [Chorus] A rendezvous of the waves and the wind endless kisses and embraces I'll always be with you on this island never let you go [Post-Chorus Scat] Da ba da, ba da ba da! Shoo-bee doo-wop, da ba da! [Bridge] The setting sun paints the sea crimson red and tells us the time has come Baby, come on it's time for ecstasy [Solo Section] [Call and Response] [Chorus] A rendezvous of the waves and the wind endless kisses and embraces I'll always be with you on this island never let you go [Outro] Yeah... Paradise... Ba da ba da... [End]
