The Fading Blue

[Verse] Turn the latch let the day slip away. Shadows stretch where the sunlight lay. The house hums low in it’s evening coat. (The stars are singing soft and slow. The Day is done, let the night flow) [Prechorus] Whisper goodnight to the fading blue. The world outside has bid adieu. [Chorus] Climb the stairs to the dreamer’s flight. Turn the key to the quiet night. Sink into the pillow let the weight go. The stars are singing soft and slow. [Verse 2] One last wee, one last flush. Brush your teeth in a world of hush. Say goodnight to the face in the mirror. (The stars are singing soft and slow. The Day is done, let the night flow) [Prechorus] Sheets unfold like a calming sea. Fold yourself in, where you’re meant to be. [Chorus] Climb the stairs to the dreamer’s flight Turn the key to the quiet night Sink into the pillow let the weight go The stars are singing soft and slow (The stars are singing let go, let go The Day is done, let the night flow)
