VELVET CHRISTMAS DAHLIA [Intro — Warm Rhodes Piano, Soft Vinyl Texture, Delicate Sleigh Bells] [Mellow, Breathless Vocal] Mmm… The world can wait tonight… [Soft Soprano Melisma] Ooh-ooh-ooh… [Verse 1 — Intimate, Smoky Lower Register] Snow is painting every window City lights are turning gold There’s a thousand celebrations But I just want someone to hold Got the fire burning slowly And your sweater on my chair Every little thing feels warmer Knowing that you’re standing there [Pre-Chorus — Gentle Rising Harmonies] Let the winter keep on falling Let the midnight turn to blue I don’t need a perfect Christmas If I’m spending it with you [Ascending, Delicate Vocal Run] Ooh, with you… [Chorus — Rich, Emotional R&B Melody] It’s a velvet Christmas Soft against my skin Every little moment Feels like heaven settling in It’s a velvet Christmas Wrapped in candlelight If the whole world disappears I’ll still have you tonight Ooh, hold me close Let the cold winds blow It’s a velvet Christmas… And I don’t wanna let you go [Post-Chorus — Layered Soprano Harmonies] Velvet, velvet Soft as falling snow Velvet, velvet Baby, don’t let go [High, Airy Head-Voice Flourish] Ooh-ooh-ooh… [Verse 2 — Soulful, Flowing Vocal Runs] There’s a ribbon on the doorway And a record playing low You’re the only kind of magic That I never wanna outgrow All the diamonds in the windows All the stars above the street Couldn’t shine a little brighter Than the way you look at me [Pre-Chorus — Strings Gradually Rising] Let the winter keep on falling Let the hours disappear Every wish I’ve ever whispered Feels a little closer here [High Mixed-Voice Melisma] Oh, you’re here… [Chorus — Stronger Harmonies, Richer Bass] It’s a velvet Christmas Soft against my skin Every little moment Feels like heaven settling in It’s a velvet Christmas Wrapped in candlelight If the whole world disappears I’ll still have you tonight Ooh, hold me close Let the cold winds blow It’s a velvet Christmas… And I don’t wanna let you go [Bridge — Piano Only, Vulnerable Vocals] And when December fades away When the decorations lose their glow Promise me that what we found Isn’t something made of snow [Strings Enter — Emotional Crescendo] ’Cause I could lose a thousand winters Watch the seasons come and go But I could never lose the feeling… [Ascending Soprano Run — Chest Voice to Head-Dominant Mix] Of being ho-o-o-ome… WHEN I’M WITH YOU! [Final Chorus — Cinematic Strings, Gospel Harmonies, Powerful Soprano] IT’S A VELVET CHRISTMAS! Soft against my skin Every little moment Feels like heaven settling in It’s a velvet Christmas Wrapped in candlelight If the whole world disappears I’LL STILL HAVE YOU TONIGHT! [Extremely High, Sustained Soprano Head Voice — No Whistle] To-ni-i-i-i-ight! [Long, Resonant High Note, Descending Melismatic Run] Ooh, hold me close Never let me go It’s a velvet Christmas… AND YOU’RE ALL I NEED TO KNOW! [Outro — Rhodes Piano, Soft Strings, Gentle Bells] [Whispered] No diamonds. No ribbons. Just you. [Very High, Delicate Soprano Head-Voice Flourish] My velvet Christmas… [Final Warm Piano Chord]
