The Answer Is Love
**On April 20, 1977, 'The Answer is Love' was released as a single, reaching number nineteen on the Rhythm & Blues charts, beginning a collaboration that would last two years, on Martin Gray and Tanyca Reeves would record three albums and nine singles that would rise to the top of the record charts. But misfortune would tarnish a promising and fruitful career. In the summer of 1978, at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia City, in the middle of a performance, Tanyca collapsed in Martin's arms. Gray would never be the same again. The reasons for Tanyca's sudden death were never fully clarified.** "The Answer is Love" (1977) Mmm... What's happening... oh, we need some love... I hear the cries out in the night, People searching for the light. Where did the kindness go? Why's the world so cold? We keep on running, but we're standing still, Dreaming of a day when hearts will heal. Oh, love is the answer, it's the only way, Lift your heart, don’t let it fade. Hold on, we can make it through, The power of love starts with me and you. Sometimes it feels like the battle’s too hard, But every step can leave a mark. We’ve got the strength, we’ve got the will, Let’s turn this tide, it’s time to heal. Oh, the children’s eyes, they’re calling out, Asking us what love’s about. Oh, love is the answer, it’s the only way, Lift your heart, don’t let it fade. Hold on, we can make it through, The power of love starts with me and you. Sometimes it feels like the battle’s too hard, But every step can leave a mark. We’ve got the strength, we’ve got the will, Let’s turn this tide, it’s time to heal. Hold on, we can make it through, The power of love starts with me and you. It starts with me and you… Let the rivers flow with peace, Let the pain be released. Together, we can rise above, Fill this world with endless love. Oh, love is the answer, it’s the only way, Lift your heart, don’t let it fade. Hold on, we can make it through, The power of love starts with me and you. It starts with me and you…
