The imposter

[Verse 1] An invitation bore his name, Though he knew he wasn't qualified. Now he stood before the checkpoint, Certain he'd be turned aside. Others moved with calm assurance. No one looked the least afraid. The imposter watched in silence, Waiting to be sent away. [Chorus] One more gate, one more hallway, One more chance to be found out. Every breath becomes a question, Every heartbeat whispers doubt. If they ask him who he is, He won't know what he should say... Maybe this is where it ends. Maybe he'll be sent away. [Verse 2] When the scanner read his badge, It spoke a name that wasn't his. Every door unlocked before him. No one questioned what they'd missed. Every checkpoint cleared before him. Every signal turned bright green. Still the imposter kept expecting Someone to expose the scheme. [Chorus] One more gate, one more hallway, Still no one has turned him back. Every door keeps opening softly, Every checkpoint lets him pass. If they ask him who he is, He won't know what he should say... Yet the lights keep turning green, And they wave him on his way. [Verse 3] At last he stood before the Ruler, Hoping the truth would set him free. "I don't belong among these people. Someone cleared the wrong ID." Then the King smiled without hesitation. "Every gate obeyed My decree. You were never welcomed for your record. You came bearing My ID." [Final Chorus] Every gate and every hallway Held a secret all along. Heaven's doors had opened gladly, Not because he did no wrong. Every light had turned to green By the King's own wise decree. He was welcomed into Heaven. The King's own name had set him free.
