[Verse 1] I took the long way home 'Cause the map looked mean Tripped on the curb again Waved at the mean machine I lost my keys in a trash can Found gum on my shoe If there's a wrong door here Bet I kick right through [Pre-Chorus] I don't know why I do it this way Headfirst, hands up Every single day [Chorus] Face first, face first That's how I learn Face first, face first Watch me crash and burn Face first, face first I like the hard road Face first, face first Cute and overloaded (face first) [Verse 2] I built a shelf with a spoon And three bent nails It leaned like a drunk fence Then it told me tales I cut my own bangs Now they hide one eye Still I grin at the mirror Like, "Nice try" [Pre-Chorus] I don't know why I do it this way Headfirst, hands up Every single day [Chorus] Face first, face first That's how I learn Face first, face first Watch me crash and burn Face first, face first I like the hard road Face first, face first Cute and overloaded (face first) [Bridge] If there's a shortcut, I miss it If there's a clean hand, I kiss it I take the scratch, take the bruise Still too dumb to lose [Final Chorus] Face first, face first That's how I learn Face first, face first Watch me crash and burn Face first, face first I like the hard road Face first, face first Cute and overloaded (face first)
