Verse 1 A threefold cord is not soon snapped When you are at the core. The vows of love that we have made We give to you, not more. A husband’s care, a wife’s support, Reflecting Christ and you, A steady hand in storm and calm, In everything we do. Chorus We will build upon the spirit, We will build upon the rock. When the storm comes, we won’t fear it, Though the winds begin to knock. In our home, your word is spoken, In our hearts, your peace will stay. With a bond that can’t be broken, We will serve you every day. Verse 2 We’ll teach the children when they rise, And when they go to rest, To love you with their strength and mind, And put your ways first, best. To trust in you with all their heart, Avoid the paths of wrong, To find in you a shield and friend, Their refuge safe and strong. Chorus We will build upon the spirit, We will build upon the rock. When the storm comes, we won’t fear it, Though the winds begin to knock. In our home, your word is spoken, In our hearts, your peace will stay. With a bond that can’t be broken, We will serve you every day. Bridge Let our table be a circle Filled with kindness, joy, and grace. Let our home reflect your goodness, Be a warm and holy place. Final Chorus We will build upon the spirit, We will build upon the rock. As for us and all our household, We will answer to your knock. Through the years and through the trials, This our choice will always be: To walk within your loving care, As a faithful family.
