[Intro] [Whispered] Count the teeth on the paper mask. One—two—run! [Verse 1] Black cat grins from the candy bowl, Tin-plate moon with a cracked-up smile. Your porch bell rings and the pumpkins roll, We kick the gate and tear down the aisle. [Pre-Chorus] Hold your breath when the hallway clicks, Hear that little laugh behind the door. [Whispered] You thought you were safe in here. Now count to four! [Chorus] Jack-o’-lantern, bite the night, Grin so wide it splits the fright. Turn the graveyard upside down, We came to shake this sleepy town! Hey! Hey! The bats take flight— Laughing as we race the night! [Verse 2] A crooked scarecrow taps his shoe, The church clock coughs out thirteen chimes. You grab my sleeve; I grab yours too, We sprint past the fence in crooked lines. [Stop-Start Break] [Shouted] STAY—! [Whispered] The floorboards know your name. GO—! [Shouted] Break the spell and feed the flame! [Chorus] Jack-o’-lantern, bite the night, Grin so wide it splits the fright. Turn the graveyard upside down, We came to shake this sleepy town! Hey! Hey! The bats take flight— Laughing as we race the night! [Bridge] [Whispered] Behind the curtain—little feet. Under the table—hold still. At the window—there you are. [Shouted] Now let the whole block feel the thrill! [Final Chorus] Jack-o’-lantern, bite the night, Grin so wide it splits the fright. Turn the graveyard upside down, We came to shake this sleepy town! Hey! Hey! The bats take flight— Laughing as we race the night! [Outro] [Spooky carnival groove] Round and round the crooked tent, One more grin, one more event. Wave goodbye, then turn around— The little clown is still in town! [Whispered] See you next October.
