[Verse 1] You text “you up?” at half past ten To ask me how to fix your printer again You borrow my hoodie, return it in June With one less sleeve and a smell like your room You say “be honest,” then punish the truth I’ve learned to say “wow” and let you get through [Pre-Chorus] You’re a walking little warning sign But somehow you’re still on my side [Chorus] Best friend, worst plan You call, I’m there—against my better plans Best friend, damn, you’re a lot I’d block you for a week, but I’d miss you by the clock Best friend, don’t get smug You’re my favorite pain in the neck I’ve got Best friend, yeah, that’s the deal I roast you like a hobby ’cause the love is real [Post-Chorus] Best friend, best friend Don’t make me say it twice Best friend, best friend You’re lucky I’m this nice [Verse 2] You’re late to the movie you picked yourself You spoil the ending, then blame the theater shelf You send me a voice note that’s four minutes long To say “quick question”—and somehow you’re wrong Your dating advice is a crime scene report Still, you show up when my own plans fall short [Pre-Chorus] You’re a walking little warning sign But somehow you’re still on my side [Chorus] Best friend, worst plan You call, I’m there—against my better plans Best friend, damn, you’re a lot I’d block you for a week, but I’d miss you by the clock Best friend, don’t get smug You’re my favorite pain in the neck I’ve got Best friend, yeah, that’s the deal I roast you like a hobby ’cause the love is real [Bridge] If you ever get famous, I’m keeping the texts The blurry old photos, the questionable bets You’ll say I’m embarrassing, I’ll say “that’s fair” Then save you a seat like I always do there [Final Chorus] Best friend, worst plan You call, I’m there—against my better plans Best friend, damn, you’re a lot I’d block you for a week, but I’d miss you by the clock Best friend, don’t get smug You’re my favorite pain in the neck I’ve got Best friend, yeah, that’s the deal I roast you like a hobby ’cause the love is real [Outro] Best friend, best friend You’re lucky I’m this nice Best friend, best friend Don’t make me say it twice
