The Street Cleaner

Shots ring out, An unmistakable sound. 9 mil shell casings Sprinkle the ground. Gold teeth glimmer As they litter the streets. Shattered glass shimmers As another mother weeps. The cemeteries loaded, The killings have exploded. Thieves tried to work a deal Negotiations imploded. Crime is outta control, we need new law. In steps a cowboy, silver six-shooter, stone chiseled jaw. He’s no empty suit, Not donning a crown. Just an old-school redneck Here to clean up the town. He lurks in shadows, moving swiftly at night. He eliminates evil, without much fight. No sirens needed, no flashing lights Just a coroner and a trailer, Bodies gone before light. Word spreads quick, thugs dropping like flies. Gangs turn on each other, spreading carnage and lies. They take out each other, blood paints the wall red Soon there are few, then none, enough said. Ghostly cries now echo from the alleys at night, As the man in the hat moves on… To fight the good fight. He’s a hired gun from the East, A street-cleaning beast. No need to pay him, He collects gold teeth.
