You Knew Before You Left

You Knew Before You Left Songs by Splash [Verse 1] You always kept me close But never let me in Every time we got somewhere You’d pull away again I used to blame myself For things I couldn’t change You said you needed time But time became your way [Pre-Chorus] I thought you couldn’t see What was right in front of you Now I know the truth [Chorus] You knew before you left You knew what we could be You weren’t scared of loving You were scared of loving me You knew before you left I saw it in your eyes You didn’t wanna lose me But you couldn’t even try [Verse 2] I heard you’re doing well You’ve finally settled down Saying all the things You couldn’t say back then I used to wonder why I wasn’t worth the fight But some people need to lose Before they get it right [Pre-Chorus] I thought you couldn’t see What was right in front of you Now I know the truth [Chorus] You knew before you left You knew what we could be You weren’t scared of loving You were scared of loving me You knew before you left I saw it in your eyes You didn’t wanna lose me But you couldn’t even try [Bridge] I hope you love her right I hope you let her stay Don’t make her pay the price For what you threw away [Final Chorus] You knew before you left You knew what we could be You weren’t scared of loving You were scared of loving me You knew before you left I saw it in your eyes You didn’t wanna lose me But you couldn’t even try [Outro] You knew before you left You knew before goodbye I wasn’t hard to love You just weren’t ready to try
