Nothing Gold Can Stay (Cover)

Verse 1 (original) Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower, But only so an hour. Chorus (new) So take it in before it fades, The morning light, the shifting shades. Don’t chase the years that slip away— Just love the gold you have today. Verse 2 (original) Then leaf subsides to leaf, So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day— Nothing gold can stay. Bridge (new) The seasons turn, the colors blend, But every bloom begins again. So breathe it in, don’t look behind, The beauty’s here, if you take the time. Final Chorus (refrain) So take it in before it fades, The morning light, the shifting shades. Don’t chase the years that slip away— Just love the gold you have today.
