Pollen Count

I stepped out the door in June And the air was thick, like soup on a spoon My shirt was soaked by noon All my energy was faded The pollen count said “high” Such a super friendly guy But a sneeze was my only reply Here comes the afternoon, don't know if I'll make it Eyes are watering, glass is fogged Brain is hazy, completely bogged Just trying to draw one clear breath Before this humidity beats me to death... Pollen count, pollen count I’m still standing up somehow My nose is red, it's dry in my mouth Pollen count, pollen count Will it cool down, I have my doubts too much heat, here in the South Think I'll wait for Fall 'till I step out my house Pollen count, pollen count Washed my truck, just an hour ago Now it’s covered in yellow green snow Steppin' out the door, soaking in sweat Ain't even out the driveway yet Air conditioner sounding like a freight train Praying to the clouds, for a drop of rain Summer looks me in the eyes and grins Asks me when I’m gonna throw the towel in Eyes are watering, glass is fogged Brain is hazy, completely bogged Just trying to draw one clear breath Before this humidity beats me to death... Pollen count, pollen count I’m still standing up somehow My nose is red, it's dry in my mouth Pollen count, pollen count Will it cool down, I have my doubts too much heat, here in the South Think I'll wait for Fall 'till I step out my house Pollen count, pollen count Scratch in my throat, haze in the sky Summerwon't stop tryin' to cook me alive One more week, one more day How much can a man take, anyway? ...ANYWAY! Eyes are watering, glass is fogged Brain is hazy, completely bogged Just trying to draw one clear breath Before this humidity beats me to death... Pollen count, pollen count I’m still standing up somehow My nose is red, it's dry in my mouth Pollen count, pollen count Will it cool down, I have my doubts too much heat, here in the South Think I'll wait for Fall 'till I step out my house Pollen count, pollen count Pollen count, pollen count Pollen count, pollen count
