[verse 1] For the leader’s song—David’s word. Let the name of Jehovah be heard. [verse 2] May Jehovah hear you in distress, The God of Jacob shield and bless. [verse 3] From His holy place, your help will come. From Zion’s hill, He’ll make you strong. [verse 4] May every gift you bring be known, Your offering honored before His throne. [verse 5] May He fulfill your heart’s desire, And every plan your hands require. [chorus] We shout for joy when your help arrives, We raise our banner—our God alive. Jehovah hears—He won’t delay. He grants your cry when you pray. [verse 6] Now I know—the Lord will save His anointed one from the holy flame. From heaven’s heights, His voice breaks through— His mighty hand will rescue you. [verse 7] Some trust chariots, some ride steeds— But we call on the name that leads. Jehovah, our God—we speak it clear. His name alone we hold in fear. [verse 8] They are bowed and broken low, But we arise, and strength will grow. [bridge] Jehovah, save—stretch out Your hand! Let the King respond when we demand. [chorus] We shout for joy when Your help arrives, We raise our banner—our God alive. Jehovah hears—He won’t delay. He answers us when we pray. [outro] Blessed is the one whose God is near— Jehovah saves, and we won’t fear.
