Sometimes you gaze at the board The pieces look the same… But inside, you’ve changed And it’s a brand new game In life and in chess Real growth Is often quiet and unseen It forms in the brain As you make choices Tucked away in a hidden scene What seems like standing still May be gathering strength As you ready to climb the hill What feels like stepping back Is preparation For the next attack In chess as in life, One move does not seal your fate. What counts is how you rise again Reshape your mind and create Discover what you never saw And more that’s behind the door So remember Where you stand today is far beyond where you began And that alone is a triumph Proof of your growing plan. Honour the miles you traveled, The lessons etched along the way The struggle you turned to wisdom The courage that won the day And in the end… Don’t forget yourself You’re still at the board, Still charting your way One quiet move away From creating your brightest day
