Smiling is so infectious You catch it kind of out the blue Someone flashed a little kindness And it stuck to me like glue As I walked around the corner Still wearing that small grin He lit up when he saw it And I knew I’d passed it on to him That’s the smile that went around Quiet spark in a crowded town From a stranger’s face to mine Then it slipped into his eyes Feels so small But it’s bigger than it seems One bright curve changing everything Pass it all around Let it run free Till the smile that went around comes back to me I kept thinking ’bout that moment How it’s worth more than it shows How a simple little gesture Plants a seed that grows and grows If you feel a smile rising Don’t push it down inside Let it live a little longer Let it out and share the light That’s the smile that went around Quiet spark in a crowded town From a stranger’s face to mine Then it slipped into his eyes Feels so small But it’s bigger than it seems One bright curve changing everything Pass it all around Let it run free Till the smile that went around comes back to me One by one We light the dark (oh yeah) Just by showing where we are You never know who really needs That little sign that they were seen That’s the smile that went around Quiet spark in a crowded town From a stranger’s face to mine Then it slipped into his eyes Feels so small But it’s bigger than it seems One bright curve changing everything Pass it all around Let it run free Till the smile that went around comes back to me
