Gather around the fire. For this is not a tale of a man who defeated monsters. This is the tale of a man who discovered... The greatest battle was never against the beast. It was against time. A warrior becomes a king. A king becomes a memory. But before the final song is sung... A hero must decide what remains. [Verse 1] Across the whale road I came alone, A stranger seeking a distant throne. A blade in my hand, fire in my chest, A young man's heart that would not rest. The halls once filled with laughter and song, Had been silent for far too long. A shadow came beneath the night, And no one remained willing to fight. They called him monster. They called him death. They watched their courage disappear with every breath. But fear grows larger when no one stands. So I stepped forward... With empty hands. [The First Oath] Raise the shield. Light the flame. Let the old songs speak my name. Not for treasure. Not for gold. Not for stories men tell when I am old. I stand for those who cannot stand. I fight for those who need a hand. [Chorus] I will stand when the darkness comes. I will stand when the world runs away. Even when my hands grow weaker... Even when my fire fades... For a hero is not the one who never falls. A hero is the one who answers the call. When the dragon rises... I will stand. [Verse 2] The years became rivers behind me. The warrior became a king. The sword that once felt weightless... Became a heavier thing. I buried friends beneath the earth. I watched young warriors rise. I learned the truth hidden from youth: Every victory has a price. The young chase glory. The old carry names. The young see battles. The old remember flames. My crown was never made of gold. My throne was never free. A king does not carry a kingdom... A kingdom carries me. [Verse 3] Fifty winters passed... And my reflection changed. The hands that tore monsters apart... Now trembled with age. The boy who crossed the ocean... Would not recognize this man. But the promise made beneath those stars... Still burned within my hands. [The Dragon] From beneath the mountain... The final shadow came. A beast of fire and hunger. A creature without a name. My warriors saw the flames rise. They saw the darkness grow. They told their aging king: "You have nothing left to prove." But they did not understand... Some battles are not fought to win. Some battles are fought because... Someone has to begin. [Wiglaf] The warriors fled. The shield wall broke. The fire filled the sky. But one young voice remained behind. One warrior refused to hide. He stood beside the old king. He lifted his blade and said: "You stood for us your whole life... Now I will stand with you instead." And in that final moment... I knew my story would remain. Because courage is not something we keep. It is something we give away. [The Last Oath] I know these hands are weaker. I know these bones are tired. I know the fire before me... May become my funeral pyre. But listen well, old dragon... I have faced the darkness before. I have lost the ones I loved. I have walked through endless war. A warrior does not stand... Because he cannot fall. A warrior stands... Because someone must. I will stand when the darkness comes. I will stand when the world runs away. Even when my hands grow weaker... Even when my fire fades... I will stand. [The Last Stand] The dragon fell... And so did I. Beneath the smoke. Beneath the sky. Not because I was defeated. Not because I was weak. But because I kept my promise... Until my final breath was free. A hero's greatest victory... Is not escaping death. It is choosing to stand... When death is certain. [The Funeral] Build the pyre. Let the flames rise high. Let the sea remember. Let the ravens cry. The treasure remains buried. The gold cannot save. No riches can follow us... Into the grave. But a life well lived... Leaves something behind. Not stone. Not silver. Not a crown. A story. A name. A light in another's eyes. [The Third Oath] I saw the old king fall. I saw the fire take his breath. I saw a man with nothing left... Still choose to face death. I thought courage was a weapon. I thought strength was never falling. I thought heroes were made of iron. But now I know... Heroes are made of choices. I will stand when the darkness comes. I will stand when the world runs away. I will carry the flame he carried... Until my final day. Not for glory. Not for fame. Not so the world remembers my name. But for every soul who needs someone to stand... I will stand. The dragon kept its treasure. The earth kept his bones. But we... We kept his song. Every song is a voyage... Every voyage changes the traveler.
