Strawberries and Spaceships

[Female voice] Charlotte, Claire, come and see! There’s a brand new strawberry Plant in our pot, branching out from the old A runner reaching, searching for a hold Somewhere to put down roots and make a home A new place to grow, another chance for survival [Young female voice] Oh look mom! The new one has a flower Let’s give them all a gentle shower Water, sun, and weeks go by Pretty soon the pot is full Runners reach, touch down and grow Flowers, berries, bellies full. [Male voice] Charlotte, Claire, come and see There’s a rocket launching on TV! Explorers climbed aboard today And headed into outer space They’re going to the moon to see If we can make a colony A foothold to survive in space A stepping stone, this lunar base Will be our gateway to the stars Today the moon, tomorrow Mars! Runners reach, touch down and grow Life, roots and home in a new soil.
